Honda Shocks Critics with New NSX Supercar

Japanese auto manufacturer Honda had quite a few surprises up its sleeve for this year's Detroit Auto Show. One of these surprises was the company's announcement that it would be bringing the rare-but adored Honda NSX "supercar" back to life. In addition, this vehicle will be built in Ohio, not in Japan, where the previous model was built from 1990-2005. Media members were so excited about the product that the announcement was received with a standing ovation.

Much of this enthusiasm stemmed from the fact that the vehicle will be built in Ohio. This move makes sense, though, when one considers the high value of the Japanese yen. A new plant will have to be built to produce the NSX, however, which will complement the Marysville and East Liberty, Ohio factories that have been working since 1982. Though there are no real details about the new NSX at the present time, except that the concept is a hybrid model with a V-6 engine and double-clutch transmission. Have no fear though, readers, as Honda CEO Takanobu Ito explains, "The NSX will enhance dynamic driving abilities without getting in the way."1 Overall, the new NSX is expected to be sleek, sporty, powerful, and visually impressive.

Stay tuned with Space Coast Honda, located in Cocoa, FL for more information about this new Honda model. In the meantime, feel free to browse our current new Honda selection. We're sure you won't be disappointed!
