Choosing a CR-V really means choosing one of two powertrains. The LX, EX and EX-L use a 1.5-liter turbocharged four rated at 190 horsepower and 179 lb-ft with a continuously variable transmission. The four hybrids combine a 2.0-liter Atkinson-cycle engine with an electric drive motor for 204 horsepower of total system output.

That direct drive unit is why the hybrid feels immediate off the line. Most trims begin in front-wheel drive with Real Time AWD on the options list, while the TrailSport Hybrid and Sport Touring Hybrid include it as standard. Fit the accessory towing equipment and the gas models are rated for 1,500 pounds, the hybrids for 1,000.

Five seats, 41.3 inches of front legroom and 41.0 inches behind it mean the second row is genuinely usable for adults. That back seat reclines, folds and splits 60/40 on all seven trims, so a paddleboard and a passenger can share the cabin without a fight.

Cargo runs 39.3 cubic feet behind the second row on the gas trims and 36.3 on most hybrids, opening to 76.5 cubic feet on a gas CR-V with the seats down. Heated front seats begin at the EX, and leather-trimmed seating arrives with the EX-L, Sport-L Hybrid and Sport Touring Hybrid.

Every 2027 CR-V leaves the factory with a 9-inch color touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto and a wireless phone charger. That standardization arrived with the 2026 refresh, so every CR-V, LX included, is fully connected the moment you get in.

The instrument panel is where the trims diverge: a 7-inch driver display on the LX, EX and Sport Hybrid, and a 10.2-inch digital cluster on the EX-L, TrailSport Hybrid, Sport-L Hybrid and Sport Touring Hybrid. Google built-in comes on the Sport Touring Hybrid.
